Dear saints,
We must have a thorough, genuine and real repentance for the kingdom of the heaven has drawn near. To repent means to have a change of mind, and for that we must set our minds on the spirit, which results in life and peace!
We have had a glorious weekend with several testimonies. At the end of the Lord’s table, all the saints were burning with the burden of colportage. They bought all the kits available for colportage and other books as well; some bookshelves were emptied out. Hallelujah! Let’s sow the seed! I will share some testimonies for your encouragement.
Brother Paulo bought a colportage kit last week and managed to sow eight books – in English and Portuguese – during the week. He sowed the books among work colleagues, friends and a pastor. One of those who purchsed the books was a young man from Kenya; he liked it so much that he wants to send more books to his family in Africa. Another experience was that of an American colleague at work. Paulo thought he was not interested, but not only did he buy a Daily Food but paid more than the book price as well.
Brother Divino and his wife Mary got the permission from the city government of Waterbury, Connecticut, to set up Mobile BooKafé tent. Rosildo, Rose and André went to help the brothers and made great contacts! The saints in Waterbury also decided to start the Lord’s table next Sunday. Hallelujah!
Rubén and Eduardo Rojas were invited to speak a word to the young people in a Christian group in Boston this Friday. The subject of the lecture will be the contents of the book “A Young Person Who Makes a Difference“. All the young people attending the lecture will be encouraged to buy the book.
Sister Ana got in contact with Brandeis University in the city of Waltham, where three young saints from the church are attending classes. She asked for permission to set up a Mobile BooKafé tent there this week. She was not sure whether they would grant the permit, because that is a very conservative university, where more than half of the students are Jewish. At the end, thanks to the Lord, we got the permit.
I got in touch with the pastors of a Christian group in Waltham, with more than 300 members, and the pastors bought the book in spanish “Los Peligros del Lado Bueno del Alma”. We had good fellowship and they want to visit our Place of Prayer/BooKafé. I am going to make a second visit in order to bring them more books, and also display the books in their meeting.
Beto spent the day yesterday in the place of prayer and sold a good number of books, Bibles and CDs. Two people went there to pray with him. Both left their phone number and were extremely happy, saying that they were going to talk to others about the place of prayer and bring their families. An American senior citizen asked Beto while entering the place of prayer whether he had enough biblical knowledge to answer the questions that he had on the Bible. Beto replied that he could come in and they would pray together for the Lord Himself to answer the questions. At the end, he said “Indeed, all people need prayer”. He and another lady who bought a Bible inquired about the meetings and said that they wish to attend the meetings.
Sisters Danielle, Karine and Detinha are organizing an event for the sisters and their friends for the purpose of also sowing the books. I also have to mention Matias and Roy, from Chillán, Chile. They arrived on Thursday and will stay in New Hampshire for four months for work. What a simplicity and what a burden for colportage! In spite of their young age, they have many experiences with the Lord and brought several books with them to the city where they are lodged, aproximately two hours from Boston. We also want to visit them and help them with the colportage.
We have to be simple and practice the present burden. Even in a time of very cold weather, with several saints going through financial difficulties and uncertainties, we are seeing that they are not falling in introspection nor sinking in Egypt. I can testify that the Lord has gained ground in the lives of the majority of the saints. The colportage has produced immediate and wonderful results! Praise the Lord for the way of simplicity that introduces us in the vision, way and work of the kingdom!
Jesus is Lord!
